New Trans-shipment Rules for Air Cargo

India has come up with new trans-shipment rules for cargo to reduce transit times and lower logistics costs.
First of all, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) waived mandatory re-screening of transit cargo at Indian airports.
In addition, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has ended permit fees and digitised customs bonding procedures.
Now, there will be an end to the  during stopovers.
Furthermore, they have completely abolished the Rs. 20 per movement trans-shipment permit fee under the Goods Imported Regulations.
After this, air carriers and console agents can temporarily import specialised Unit Load Devices (ULDs) outside customs areas. A continuity Bond execution allows cargo containers to bypass offloading during transit.
On top of it, the ICEGATE Portal will facilitate the trans-shipment requests and processing.

Government Eases Air Cargo Movement Regulations

To reduce logistics, operational, and transit costs, the Indian government is easing air cargo movement regulations.
Above all, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has abolished the per-cargo transhipment fee.
Additionally, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) lifted Required Recheck for transfer cargo.
In other words, this allows direct “tail-to-tail” aircraft transfers within two hours.

Furthermore, the All-India National Transhipment Bond and Continuity Bond systems allow carriers to process cargo re-export responsibilities.
Most importantly, the ICEGATE portal now fully automates trans – shipment monitoring.
Likewise, the foreign cargo airlines can operate freight charter services out of all international airports.

Conclusion
